Coolamon boasts excellent medical services and facilities that include two full-time doctors, a dentist, a hospital with acute care beds, an aged persons hostel including dementia wing, a chemist, and associated ancillary services such as Home Care, Community Transport, Community Nurse, Meals on Wheels and a Community Centre.
Kindergarten through to Year 6 school education is available in each of the Shire’s six towns, with Coolamon and Ardlethan Central Schools offering classes from Kindergarten through to Year 12. Coolamon also has Saint Michael’s Catholic Primary School, and Ganmain has Saint Brendan’s Primary School. The Shire has three Preschools, the Coolamon Early Childhood Centre and Home-Based Day Care Facilities are also available.
The Wagga Wagga Campus of Charles Sturt University is located only 20 minutes drive from Coolamon and a campus of the Riverina Institute of TAFE is also located at Wagga Wagga. The Riverina Community College and other training facilities provide outreach services to the Coolamon community.
