Allawah Lodge Aged Persons Hostel
Allawah Lodge Aged Persons Hostel is located on the corner of Stinson and Mirrool Streets, Coolamon. It is currently approved for 33 beds, 10 of which are dedicated for residents with dementia. It is situated in the heart of the health care precinct and is within walking distance to the main street.
The name "Allawah" means "place of rest".
Vision:
It is the aim of the staff, Committee and volunteers to ensure every resident may reside in a safe home-like environment, where their dignity and privacy is respected, whilst maintaining individual physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs with a minimum of assistance.
Allawah Lodge Dementia Units
Construction of the Aitken-Logan Wing was completed in January, 2004 with the building being opened by the Hon. Tim Fischer on the 28 March, 2004.
This facility was significantly supported by the local Community, Council and a grants from the Federal Government.
The Aitken-Logan Wing is a 10 bed low care dementia unit which is attached to the Allawah Lodge Aged Persons Hostel.
