How can I pay my rates?

Rates can be paid in person, by mail, with BPAY, direct debit or on the internet.

In Person

Rates may be paid by attending Council's offices, located at 55 Cowabbie Street, COOLAMON, by Cash, Cheque or Money Order. Payments can also be made in person at any Australia Post outlet by Cash, Cheque or EFTPOS.

By Mail

Cheques should be posted to DEFT Payment Systems, GPO Box 4690, SYDNEY NSW 1031 and made payable to Macquarie Bank.

BPAY

Contact your participating Bank, Credit Union or Building Society to make this payment from your cheque or savings account. This can usually be done by phone or through the Internet. The BPAY Biller code is 96503 while the reference number can be found on your annual Rate Notice or on your Instalment Notices.

Three Ways to Pay By Phone

At the cost of a local call (mobiles extra) please call 1300 30 10 90. This is a 24 hour automated service available from most push button phones.

1. Pay from your bank account Transfer funds from your pre-registered bank, building society or credit union account. Contact the Council's Rates Department for a registration form.
2. Pay with your credit card or charge card Bankcard, Mastercard and Visa may be used
3. Pay automatically With a single call you can program payments in advance from your account or credit card (similar to direct debits). To pay from your account contact Council's Rates Department for a registration form.

Direct Debit

You may nominate an amount and have it deducted from your bank account on a periodic basis, whether it be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly.

A Direct Debit Request form and Direct Debit Agreement form are required to be completed and returned to the Council. Download the Direct Debit forms from the link below. Direct Debit form

Internet

Payment can also be made DEFT Payment Systems. The address to make internet payments is www.deft.com.au

Centrepay Deduction

You may nominate an amount to be deducted directly from any Centrelink Payment received. 

A deduction form is required to be completed and returned to the Centrelink to commence the payments.
