Coolamon Shire Council are committed to supporting the communities devastated by fire in particular those in our local area. In response to the recent evacuation orders, Council are setting up a register of Coolamon Shire residents who are willing and able to provide accomodation support to both people and animals currently displaced from their homes.
Any Coolamon Shire residents who are seeking to register should email Jessica Inch on jinch@coolamon.nsw.gov.au.
The following details should be provided;
-Name, address and contact number
-Number of people/animals/both you are able to accomodate
Coolamon Shire Council will also be offering staffing support to the fire effected areas where needed.
Mayor John Seymour OAM said “in conjunction with our neighbouring councils of Bland, Junee, and Temora we hope to be able to provide as much support as possible, we are already seeing a heart felt response from many Coolamon Shire residents, with many volunteers assisting where they can. We hope this register will provide some relief to those who need it most”
The Coolamon Shire community are currently offering support through volunteers and vehicles, whilst being mindful to retain support and services for our communities protection.
Allawah Lodge will also be opening it’s doors to any retirement home residents who need accomodation.
