Allawah Lodge
Allawah Lodge is a 33 bed residential aged care facility located on the corner of Stinson and Mirrool Streets, Coolamon. Situated in the heart of the Coolamon health care precinct, Allawah Lodge is within walking distance to the main street and is set in beautiful landscaped gardens.
Construction was first completed in 1991. Originally a 12 bed low care Hostel, the facility was extended in 1997 with a 10 bed addition named the Chauncy Wing, after a donation by the family. A third stage was finalised in 2004 with an 11 bed dementia specific wing. Council utilised grant funding to complete a major refurbishment during 2020-2021 including landscaping, kitchen, laundry upgrades, relocation of dining room, offices and establishment of multi-purpose room for resident use.
Resident rooms are airconditioned and each has a private ensuite and built-in wardrobe and an adjustable bed is provided.
Vision:
It is the aim of the staff, Committee and volunteers to ensure every resident may reside in a safe home-like environment, where their dignity and privacy is respected, whilst maintaining individual physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs with a minimum of assistance.

1. How do I get on the wait list?
Prospective residents can ring and book a tour at any time. If someone is interested in putting their name on the “wait list”, Council would ask that they ensure that they have an ACAT assessment indicating that they are eligible for respite and permanent care. To enable prospective residents to have an idea on how much it would cost, Council would also encourage people to complete a Services Australia means test.
2. Can I take a look around?
